President’s address to the people of Iran

Folks I decided to include the prez’s address to the people of Iran since the press was too busy nannering on about AIG I don’t think this story got the attention it deserves.
I’m very pleased about the president’s address to Iran, I think it’s a good start to trying to change the tone in our relations with them. I also think it was very clever of the president to do this in such a public manner, and by using the net he can get around the govt. sensors in Iraq and be sure the people will see his msg.
That address to Iran is brilliant. I think Obama hit all the right notes and his tone was friendly and not condescending and confrontational like our former POTUS. None other than Patrick Buchanann called it brilliant and courageous this morning on MSNBC. That is high praise indeed.
This coming week should be a lot of fun, budget week!
As I said yesterday, if Obama and Hillary get Syria and Iran on the bus, there will big, positive changes in the Middle East.
It’s been an interesting week with all the news and blogs information. Off for a week vacation to visit family. Will follow things on the laptop.
Back in a boot because of another stress fracture. Don’t ever have foot surgery unless it is absolutely necessary!
Have a good week everyone!
You and my hubby agree on that, Bev. He was supposed to have surgery on his other foot this summer but now says, “No Way!”
Enjoy your vacation and let that foot heal.
Sucks on the stress fracture bev, I hope it’s not too painful.
Hey folks, I added nanny’s profile to the “Who Are These People” page, damn we’re an attractive group!
I havent listened to Pres. Obama’s speech yet but will. Right now its just turned into a wonderfully beautiful day here.
Best wishes on the foot. I can tell you I know how tough a foot problem can be.
Later troops the outdoors and March Madness calls…..
Have a good vacation. And take care of that foot!
dnd’s profile (such as it is!) has been added.
This is almost scary.
When you asked for profiles, I thought of responding that I would put mine up right after dnd did. (Figured he never would.)
Because I preferred to remain a dog of mystery.
That’s 4 times this week dnd has beaten me to posting almost the exact same sentiment.
As I said, scary.
Ok, this is pretty funny, wordpress automatically links blogs with simular key words, so wordpress linked us to a PUMA sight. I went and checked it out, and posted “she lost, get over it”. Well the blog owner went and changed my posts, talk about integrity!
And on TM they are ranting about ACORN, gotta love the blopisphere!
What did you expect from the PUMAratti?
“As I said, scary.
Editing other people’s comments because you don’t agree with them is about as low it gets in my book!
dog’s profile has been added.
Funny they would change your words, but leave up the response…(duh) ..
Well they are PUMA after all UB, you can’t expect too much from them!
Did you read through any of their comments? If it weren’t so sad it would be funny.
I did , they sounded familiar…..did you notice that the post had a “generated” link under it to Shelia’s post here?
haha, no I didn’t notice that, but yes their tone is very familiar indeed!

Gail Collins is outraged about the Bush Presidential Library:
“It’s hard to believe that there are rich people, even in Dallas, who think the George W. Bush Presidential Center is the best possible use for excess cash at this particular point in history. We’re going to devote the next couple of months to torturing any employee of a bailed-out financial company who took a bonus. There ought to be a few minutes to spare for people who weigh all the nation’s competing needs, then decide that what the world needs most is a really good repository for W.’s White House treadmill.”
Back from the Belly of the Beast. Infiltrating the Republican Lincoln Day Dinner.
“It’s been a while since I infiltrated a Republican event, and I am happy to report that I survived relatively unscathed.”
Dallas is a strange place, they are jockeying for position. – that’s just my opinion- after living there twice and seeing how they roll…..lol
oh, thank you for posting from mudflats.
Will be worth reading, no matter what the topic.
Since our Congress seems to like feigning outrage these days, here is something that should spark genuine outrage under the majestic done of the Capitol Building:
“I had a conversation several weeks ago with a former Army officer, a woman, who had been attacked in her bed a few years ago by a superior officer, a man, who was intent on raping her.
The woman fought the man off with a fury. When she tried to press charges against him, she was told that she should let the matter drop because she hadn’t been hurt. When she persisted, battalion officials threatened to bring charges against her.”
I’ve heard terrible stories about the what really happens in the Navy from my daughters friend who has been stationed in Japan…..not just rape, but other horrific assaults that remain unreported…..all associated with sex, who is having it, with whom and who knows……
People are being beaten within inches of their lives…. and they have little to no recourse.
Well, if all those outraged senators and congressmen and women would hold high profile hearings about these assaults and start dragging generals and admirals up to the Hill for televised grillings, we might see some real changes.
Of course, all the loud mouth talking heads and their poison pen cousins could do a great deal to hammer this home to the public. The surest way to get any change within the Military is to give them lots of negative press and make them answer to Congress.
As I said earlier, this is an issue worthy of genuine outrage. I think it’s high time we see some.
Sad to say it’s up to the victim, in this case, to become the face for change……once a story is out there, and the public can identify with the victim, then the public pressure will increase……then and only then will people do anything……that being said, the victim could be a faceless graphic representation…..( remain anonymous but develop a voice) through blogs and grass root efforts……and all the rest a media blitz etc.
It is a worthy cause for outrage, absolutely!
Good evening, Brian.
C’mon brian, just four more from you and the majority of today’s comments would be yours.
Guess you are too busy harassing other sites and stalking people on twitter.
You drunk again, Craig?
Since you think we’re such a boring blog, why don’t you and your boyfriend find something more interesting to do? We won’t mind.
You afraid of losing some of your not so worshiping followers to BackChannel, Craig?
So what’s my post tally today, Craig? Who’s winning? Brian or me? Or maybe, UB?
What’s the matter, Craig? Too bombed to talk to me?
Steve’s profile has been added, and check out dnd’s too, he’s been tinkering with it!
Where’s Craig, Brian? We were having such a lovely chat!
like a puff of smoke, gone with the wind.
dang, I miss the troll…..lol…..
Maybe the troll can be the official unofficial record keeper…that is something he does well. 🙂
There you are! I’m sure Craig is sorry he missed you, UB. He sure does like to keep track of us, doesn’t he? I think he miss us. How ’bout you?

I did that too.
