Karl Rove, who gives a rat’s ass? ~ BrianInNYC

Folks are we really supposed to care one wit what Karl Rove has to say?   Much of this week’s cable news chatter has been focused on Karl Rove calling the vice president a liar.  Karl Rove calling anyone a liar is the greatest example of “pot calling the kettle black” to come down the pike in a very long time.  It appears to me that over the past few weeks the three Bush Administration officials who have emerged as defenders of Bush’s legacy are Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and Ari Fleischer.    These three  paragons of honesty seem to have  become the main defenders of Bush, I guess the other  Bushies are too busy consulting their lawyers as what to do when a process server comes a knocking on their door or desperately trying to find a job.  The lies spread by these three are too numerous for me to list here, one can simply do a Google search on “Lies told by (fill in the blank)”  if you need a refresher course.

While watching Ari Fliescher froth at the mouth last week blathering on about what then Senator Biden said or didn’t say to George Bush  I found myself thinking “piss off wanker, you have no powers here, be gone before someone drops a house on you”

Why Mr. Rove expects us to believe or care about anything he has to say is beyond me.  Rove has failed in his mission in life, his goal to create a permanent GOP majority in this country has becoming one of the great running jokes of modern American politics.  Let the viewers of Fox, the GOP base, PUMAs, and empty headed lazy clucking  pundits hang on Mr. Rove’s every word, the rest of us have moved on.  Mr. Rove should STFU and be grateful he’s not in Leavenworth the apple of some deranged chubby chaser’s eye!

I completely agree with you – no one should care about the rat’s ass except the rat, and his name is Karl! I watched the feature on K. Rat last night on TV. Almost sad, the need for attention.

I continue to be amazed at the number of rats that keep coming out of their hole to defend their former boss and put down the current president. Karl really is the epitome of the black kettle. Do the members of the former administration that keep yammering about the present administration really think that people are influenced by them?

Considering the state of the economy etc. of today, I would think they have other things that are more important than what K. Rat thinks.

I am so looking forward to more repugs being eliminated in the 2010 election. K. Rat really isn’t helping things.

  2. lol…”the apple of some deranged chubby chaser’s eye!” I imagine somebody somewhere will find that offensive, I think it is hysterical. 🙂

I don’t get the desperation of the media, there are plenty of real issues to cover…..and seems like an endless supply of people willing to speak.

    Rove is so yesteryear.

  3. That’s the cleanest way I could come up with for it UB!

    😉

  4. your restraint is commendable. 😉 lol

  5. It’s what I’m best known for, ask anybody.

We can all vouch for you, Brian. 😉

Rove has some grand plan here, even if it is a flawed plan like his permanent repug majority plan. I suspect he is trying to discredit Biden and the administration without mentioning Obama. He and his cronies seem to think the only way to tarnish Obama is to destroy those who are close to him. So far, it isn’t working because Rove and his ilk have no creditability with the American people. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if these ridiculous tactics have the opposite effect and INCREASE the president’s popularity. Now wouldn’t THAT be poetic justice?

  8. nannymm

BTW….haven’t we seen this “serial exaggerator” claim before? It’s the exact same charge the right wingnuts made against John Kerry. Too many people fell for it then; I don’t think many will be fooled this time.
I guess the repugs are not only out of new policy ideas, they must be out of new tactical ideas also. 😀

  9. I think it’s pretty damn difficult to go tactically against the tide of the world and common sense and change…..I mean things are changing, and no one wants anything to stay the same, so what do they (repugs) have? A big fat ZERO…nothing…..they are so way lost….and deservedly so.

    May they diminish in peace.

  10. dnd

Karl “permanent Republican majority” Rove has lost his mojo, and likely is not happy about it. All, except the wingnuts, are now aware of his propagandist con. Appealing to the wackos is a very dangerous strategy for the Republican party. They risk alienating the thinking right and the independents. Michael Steele should gather Rove, Cheney, Fleischer, Newt, et. al. and tell them they are doing more harm than good.

  11. Well without that mojo, he(Rove) has nothing left…poor little has-been.

Micheal Steele…..I can’t even say his name without a snicker…… that’s the best they’ve got?

  12. I have to go play…..I won the tourney last night (about 21.00)…..(big deal) but to me it’s been awhile so it was fun….check back with you later.

    I have a baseball Q when I get back…carry on….

  13. dnd

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Guys like Rove, Cheney, Fleischer, Cantor, Pense, Bachmann, Jindal, Palin are going to be the end of the current Republican party of “no.” What will rise from the conservative ashes are people like Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Lincoln Chaffee, Nelson Rockefeller, Bob Dole, Barry Goldwater, etc., i.e. people who stood on principle but with dignity and respect for those they did not agree with, but knew they had to work with.

    I think we’ll all be a lot better off…

    Breaking News

ASU Renaming Scholarship Program After Obama

After a day of withering criticism over its decision not to award President Barack Obama an honorary degree, Arizona State University announced on Saturday that it would expand a scholarship program in the president’s name.

dnd, I hope you are correct. But I think it is going to take a while for the thinking Repugs to take their party back from the wingnuts. Until then, the repug party will remain a joke.

  16. I believe the “thinking repugs” were raised with the current philosophy…and that why they are in such dire straights…..they have no clue as how to turn the page, and reinvent themselves…..it’s not in their nature…….maybe someone will show up, but so far….big bucket of fail.

  17. nannymm

“…they have no clue as how to turn the page, and reinvent themselves…..it’s not in their nature…”

You’re right, UB. They haven’t really had any control of the repug party for a long time. The right wing anti-intellectual crazies took over years ago and have drowned out any voices of sanity and reason ever since. The reasonable repugs are going to have to start from square one to build a functioning party. My question is, “how do they do that within the existing party structure?” It seems to me that they will first need to kick the wingnuts to the curb or leave themselves and start a new party.
As long as the crazy anti-elite zealots (like Palin, Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck, for instance) are in the party, they will control it, if for no other reason than that they scream the loudest and get the most attention.
All in all, this sure is fun to watch. And I suspect the show will get better as time goes on. 😀

  18. Evening peeps, glad you enjoyed my mid day rant!

  19. Steve

Good morning all…..The GOP is still out of ammo. I am worried a bit about the potential for violence this April 15th. I saw an episode of Hannity this weekend and he seemed to be really stirring the pot about some gathering they were planning….much to do today for me on a personal level! Later

  29. DOBSON POINTS TO CULTURE WAR DEFEAT…. James Dobson delivered a farewell speech to the Focus on the Family staff, and conceded that the culture war he helped start hasn’t turned out well for the agents of intolerance. Indeed, Dobson almost sounded resigned to defeat.

“We tried to defend the unborn child, the dignity of the family, but it was a holding action,” he said.

“We are awash in evil and the battle is still to be waged. We are right now in the most discouraging period of that long conflict. Humanly speaking, we can say we have lost all those battles.”

Big deal – ASU, my alma mater for my BA & MA, is re-naming a scholarship program for Obama. They don’t seem to be creating a new one. There is no money because of the budget cuts.

The esteemed president, Michael Crow, had to eat crow this weekend. ASU has become an embarrassment in the world of higher education.

The sea captain, Richard Phillips, has been freed and is aboard a US Navy ship. The report I read said that 3 of the 4 Somalis that had him as a hostage now are dead and the other is in custody and injured. The US Navy is not releasing any more information.

  32. eprof2

Bev and Nanny, I don’t think the ASU degree issue is dead yet. It’s really starting to heat up (no pun intended for Arizonans) and the event isn’t until May 13th. This is really a black-eye on ASU.

  33. eprof2

And, Brian, add Newt Gingrich to your thread this morning as he’s ranting about the media coverage of Bo. I guess it’s true, Repugs haven’t anything to talk about at all except to carp about the very outer limits of politics.

Nanny, I think the Repugs started the “exaggeration” claims against Gore. Remember “he says he invented the Internet?”

Have a great Sunday, folks, and don’t eat too many eggs. I thought it funny on CBS Sunday today when the resident chef said “deviled eggs” are back in vogue and all the rage. On Easter Sunday no less! LOL!!!

  34. Always room for one more eprof!

  35. eprof2

Brian, I’m going to pull your grammar chain as your entry saying, “always room for one more eprof” made it sound like you wanted to add eprof to the the list. Remember your commas, please! Just pulling your chain a little.

  36. BevnTempe

I think you’re right, eprof2. We were at a party last night with some ASU profs, and the feeling was the same. The mood is not a happy one at ASU.

  37. I better do that right.

    Comma this, efprof!

    better?

    😆

  38. dnd

    eprof2,
There was a pot-luck brunch at church this morning. Everybody agreed that the deviled eggs were the best 😉

BTW, Brian must be snoozing. WRT cooking, “deviled” is a verb meaning to prepare with a savory seasoning.

ps. Park v. Cook. Cookie had a 1-2-3 first. Park pitched 50 and the Rockies hit around.

  39. eprof2

Yes, indeed, Brian, much better. Would you like to be lumped in with Karl Rove, et al? I’ll bet not!

The CBS chef put crab meat, paprika, bermuda onion, and a little sea salt for his deviled (savory seasoned) eggs. When the kids are finished with their egg hunt today, I’m going to try and make a few of the crab meat deviled eggs for myself (and Mrs. eProf).

Bev, I hope your professor friends speak up loud and clear and send some asu.edu emails to Michael Crow and other top administrators. While I don’t advocate death threats or any other violence to ASU administrators, here is an article on the biggest dispute to hit the campus in years:

“Jamac Habeb, a 30-year-old self-proclaimed pirate, told The Associated Press from one of Somalia’s piracy hubs, Eyl, that, “our friends should have done more to kill the captain before they were killed. This will be a good lesson for us.”

“From now on, if we capture foreign ships and their respective countries try to attack us, we will kill them (the hostages),” he said. France and India have both taken deadly military action against pirates in recent months and seen no significant retaliation, however.”

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090412/ap_on_re_af/piracy

What a dumb shit. Killing hostages means you have no bargaining chips. Plus it means that the military will womp your ass in ways you don’t really want.

  43. What ways do you like your ass womped dnd?

  44. dnd

    Brian,
My point was, kill the hostage, and you will become shark bait. Fast.

Somalia is a failed state. Hillary needs a special envoy there to help come to grips with the problems.

  45. Somalia is a pretty good argument for us trying to get Afghanistan right!

  46. Brian…

You should have titled this post The Three Traitors since they are after all.

I watched Judgment At Nuremberg today, it was on yesterday also and I saw bits and pieces of it.

When will we as a country hold all those responsible for their parts in the destruction of our country?

When will they stand trial for Treason and War Crimes since they knew what Bush\Cheney were doing?

Yes I’m talking about those in the House and Senate who are just as guilty as those who authorized the crimes that were committed in our name.

Bring them all to justice and let the cards fall where they may.

That’s my take on it and I stand by my words.

    God Bless.

  47. Damn, Family Guy rerun, my life sucks!
