Morning Joe Has Shown Its True Colors ~ Horsedooty

Vodpod videos no longer available.

On MSNBC Tuesday morning, "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough justified former Vice President Dick Cheney’s quickness to attack the new president. "[Obama] dismantled this program on his second day in there …I knew by the second day that America was less safe," Scarborough said, "if you believe like I believe and 50% of Americans believe, that this program actually made America safer."

I have decided that this show is not for me now and emailed them to let them know.

  1. I watched Morning Joe this morning, one of the few mornings I was up early enough to see. It was more like watching the middle age remake of Animal House, definitely not worth getting up for!

  2. BevnTempe

I agree with Horsedooty and Brian. Joe S is full of XXXX and it’s too early to get up!

  3. Bev, we’re all adults, you can say shit here!

  4. Who did you think Joe Scarborough was? He’s always been a pretty serious conservative and a hawk on national security. Sometimes he gets a bit carried away (as in this case) but now and then he’s a rational republican. But there are others on the show that counter-act his point of view. Personally, it’s my favorite morning show. I tape it as it is on at 3AM here on the west coast. I say, give him another shot. It’s a great show!

  5. Welcome aboard Rick, and come on be honest, this morning was pretty pathetic! The way the three of them were drooling over that imbecile was just amazing.

  6. Doots…

How right you are about that Fascist Joe. I have sent so many comments in to his show that he must think that I’m a nut.

I’ve called him a Fascist, Nazi and many other things including since he made his comment about giving Mika the back of his hand a women abuser as well.

I told him he should be waterboarded on camera for charity and then tell us how he wasn’t tortured.

I told him he should read the Nuremberg Trials since it was apparent he slept through his History classes.

Yes good ole Joe is also probably a racist and bigot as well or he wouldn’t be defending the indefensible.

    God Bless.

    Hi Rick. Welcome!
I will continue to watch, even though I am disgusted with JS and his comments today. Maybe Mika’s dad will come on again soon and put Joe in his place and show Mika how it’s done (she really needs to learn.)When he told Joe how “stunningly superficial” he is, I jumped up and cheered. Joe was somewhat subdued for a few days; I guess it’s time for another smackdown. 😀

Hi, A-P! It’s good to see you; we’ve missed you. How ya been?

  9. Yeah AP, where you been? All is well I hope.

  10. Prez has come out swinging at ASU

  11. nannymm

And he’s doing it with class and a velvet glove.

  12. Hi nannymm and brian…

I’m doing alright. Had a bad couple of weeks, both at work and at home.

My new fridge went down so I lost all my food in it the week before last and it didn’t get repaired until last Friday.

I also got a new processor for my motherboard and then found out it would not recognize though it showed my MB supported it.

I got the AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2.1ghz and all I can get out of it is 1400×133 and that’s even with the bios update.

It seems that Abit didn’t do no bios updates after March 2003 and the xp3000 barton came out in late 03 and early 04.

So it looks like I’m back to what I had since it replaced my Socket A Athlon T Bird 1.4ghz which ran at 1400×100.

I’m going to contact Abit and see if I can convince them to do a bios update to support the Barton cpu on the kg7 series motherboards, though I honestly don’t think they will. At least its worth a try.

Well time to go and watch Keith online.

    Take care and…

    God Bless.

  13. nannymm

Sounds like a nightmare, Anon. I hope things start looking up for you soon.

As someone who critized ASU for not honoring the president with a doctorate degree because he lacked sufficient accomplishments, I was really, really impressed with how both ASU and the president turned the controversy into a major positive. First, ASU will honor the president with 1,600 annual scholarships in the president’s name. Second, Obama turned the “sufficient accomplishments” into a rousing talk on why he and the graduates shouldn’t rest on their laurels and should strive to accomplish great things in their entire lives and not live for the moment. Well done, Mr. President! Well done!

  16. dnd

I agree. The Prez took perfect advantage of an uncomfortable situation. Gonna be interesting to see how he handles the protesters who are traveling to Notre Dame.

  17. dnd

Scarborough’s principle political skill is that he’s a consummate bullshitter. He tries to come across as a moderate, but a quick review of his congressional record show’s otherwise. He says he’s a Reagan Republican, but that’s just more BS. He’s a Gingrich Republican.

  18. dnd

I wonder if Jingo Joe had any comment on FBI interrogator Ali Soufan’s testimony yesterday that torture doesn’t work:

  19. dog's eye view

Good morning all. On a road trip; more later.

eprof and Bev: if you get a chance, please link to some local or good accounts of President’s ASU speech last night. Was thinking of you when heard he was there and about to speak. 1600 scholarships. Great idea.

Ciao for now, and have a good one.

  20. dog's eye view

Anyone can post on the ASU appearance. Or whatever. Still waiting on second cup of coffee to kick in!!

  21. nannymm

Good Morning from the very windy North Country. I just chased my tent down the road. A 60 mph gust picked it up and almost whisked it away. Fortunately I caught it and was able to get it home and into my garage.
With winds like this, I expect my power will be going out today. So if I’m not around, you’ll know why.

So where you off to, dog’s eye? I hope ya have a fun trip!

    Anyone see MoJo this morning?

  22. Why hadn’t you put the tent away before this?

  23. nannymm

It was soaked and muddy so we put it up to dry. But it has rained every night so it still isn’t fully dry.

  24. I thought you’re supposed to put them away damp to insure that proper musky tent smell for your next outing?

  25. eprof2

DEV, while the front page of the AZ Republic has extensive coverage of last night’s events at ASU, CNN has a good story and a video of the President’s speech.

  26. nannymm

Ewwww! You can sleep in a musty tent, Brian. I prefer not to. 🙂

  27. nannymm

What is Karl Rove really up to? Are he and his cronies so desperate to deflect blame away from themselves that they really think they can get way with this?

    Congress and Waterboarding
Nancy Pelosi was an accomplice to ‘torture.’

  28. nannymm

Nancy Pelosi says the CIA lied to Congress about waterboarding. Imagine that! Who ever would have thought the CIA would be less than truthful? LOL
I thought lying, deceiving, and committing criminal acts was part of their Mission Statement.

  29. I’m really glad to see she’s sticking to her guns!

for me today google is being a butt and refuses to load anyone else?

  31. you mean gmail doots? Mine is fine

  32. nannymm

    Mine is fine, too, Doots.

Brian, Nancy just opened the flood gates. Now there will have to be an investigation. And it’s about damned time!

  33. Oh look it’s the repug’s person of color, John Boehner.

Chrysler Plans to Shut One Quarter of Its Dealers

Chrysler, which filed for bankruptcy protection two weeks
ago, sent letters to 789 of its 3,200 American dealers
revoking their franchises with the carmaker.

  35. nannymm

Now this is just sickening! And I don’t believe it was “a technical foul-up.”

“John Solomon, the editor of The Washington Times, says in an interview that he regrets that his paper’s Web site ran a photo of Obama’s daughters along with a story about murdered school-children in Chicago, blaming it on a technological foul-up.
The photo of Obama’s daughters appeared yesterday with this story reporting that a record number of schoolkids had been killed in Chicago this year. Bloggers flagged the photo, with Gawker opining: “This is just plain creepy.”
After Media Matters jumped on it, suggesting it was another example of right-wing media hinting at violence towards Obama, the photo was taken down.”

    See the picture here:

“In a May 29, 2004, Wall Street Journal op-ed, Yoo made assertions that were later revealed to be highly misleading or at odds with legal memos he had written during the Bush administration as a deputy assistant attorney general in the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel.”

  37. Yeah I saw that in Politico nanny, I agree, this was no innocent fuck up. Very creepy indeed!

  38. nannymm

dnd, that just gives more credence to Pelosi’s assertion that the CIA lied to her. It’s quite obvious that lying was the Bush/Cheney administration specialty. Pretty damned pathetic since they fucked that up too.

  39. I like this pic, I also like the fact there was a poetry jam at the White House.

  40. nannymm

I love that blouse Michelle is wearing! She is looking better and better; what a sense of style! Oh, yeah! Barack looks good, too. 😉

  41. trout boy aka Horsedooty

looked like anything that used google to process the link was broken for me this morning and now this afternoon it is all good now.

  42. The just did a story about the google melt down this morning. It didn’t effect me.

  43. BevnTempe

The President was masterful using his non-honorary degree to encourage the new graduates that their best work is still to come. He’s a sharp cookie!

The streets were closed, the new light rail was very crowded, people had to pay $5 for a bottle of water inside the stadium because they couldn’t take it inside. 100+ heat related problems, 10-15 sent to the hospital. Approx 66,000 people came and endured the 100 degree heat on Wednesday.

Links below include front page of today’s newspaper and from Tuesday night’s Daily Show which had Jason Jones visiting the campus. It was great!

  44. Thanks for the local color reporting Bev!

Can her subbing on Morning Joe be far off? 😉

  47. She sure could give Joe a run for his money, they are fighting for the same base.

  48. nannymm

Palin and Pray-jean for Prez ’12. What a ticket! The “Beauty Bimbos”; wouldn’t that make a great bumper sticker?

  49. Bimbos? I always knew you were a sexist nanny!

  50. nannymm

Yep, sexist me! Can’t tolerate stupid woman claiming to be victims all the time. They ought to STFU and work their butts off to get ahead. Taking their clothes off and parading their stuff on stage is an affront to competent, hard working, intelligent women. And blaming others for their screw ups is insulting to all of us women who take responsibility for our actions and our lives.

  51. nannymm

This is too funny. It’s from Rush Bimbaugh’s show today:

Rush posed these questions for Obama: “Sir, how would you have gotten where you are if you didn’t put yourself first? President Obama, if you behaved the way you advised graduates at Arizona State University, you would have given the presidency to John McCain. He’s more deserving, he’s older, he served in a war. You could have done a great thing. You could have really sacrificed. “Oh, this me first, oh, that’s horrible to think about yourself. It’s horrible.” He wouldn’t have gotten where he is, he wouldn’t stay where he is if he hadn’t put himself first.

  52. Isn’t it amazing what a drug addled brain can come up with!

  53. nannymm

He should give up those pills and smoke pot.

  54. dnd

“He should give up those pills and smoke pot.”

What makes you think he hasn’t? From the size of his girth, I can only believe he’s got a serious case of the munchies…

  55. nannymm

Good point, dnd, except that pot generally makes one mellow; Rush acts more like he’s on steroids.
