Ex-Governor Jessie Ventura Says Coleman A Hypocrite and He Would Waterboard Cheney ~ Horsedooty

Former Minnesota Governor and one-time professional wrestler Jesse Ventura went public on Larry King Live yesterday with some harsh criticisms of the Bush administration, as well as Senator Norm Coleman…Coleman’s always been a hypocrite. He never does what he says. He said election night, when he won, that [Al] Franken should drop out, and he should be the senator. Well, then the same should hold true after the recount.

Ventura, who beat out Coleman in the 1998 Minnesota gubernatorial race, said that any federal appeal by the senator should be thrown out.
Ventura also came out against the Bush administration, calling George Bush the "worst president in my lifetime" and saying he has "no respect for Dick Cheney."

Claiming that he was water-boarded as part of Navy Seal training he received during the Vietnam War era, Ventura says:

“[Water-boarding] is torture…It’s drowning. It gives you the complete sensation that you are drowning. It is no good, because you — I’ll put it to you this way, you give me a water board, Dick Cheney and one hour, and I’ll have him confess to the Sharon Tate murders.”

Jesse Ventura waterboarding Cheney, if broadcast, would be ratings gold!

  2. It could be a pay per view event!

I’m really starting to wonder about Pelosi-gate. It really makes little difference about what she knew and when she knew it. What could she have done to stop it? There’s few people to whom she could have revealed this classified information. Would the Republican Congress have threatened to withhold CIA funding?

And John Yoo’s legal memos said that it would be unconstitutional to interfere with any direction from the Commander in Chief during wartime.

Me thinks this is a designed to be a huge distraction. And the MSM is once again being a stenographer for the right.

  5. “Me thinks this is a designed to be a huge distraction.”

100% spot on, I wish the speaker hadn’t taken so long to push back, this story has gone on too long unchallenged.

“Me thinks this is a designed to be a huge distraction.”

Me, too, dnd. Not only is the MSM being a stenographer for the right, they are deliberately ignoring evidence that corroborates Pelosi’s account:

In testimony that could bolster Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s claim that the CIA misled her during briefings on detainee interrogations, former Senator Bob Graham insisted on Thursday that he too was kept in the dark about the use of waterboarding, and called the agency’s records on these briefings “suspect.”
In an interview with the Huffington Post, the former Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman said that approximately a month ago, the CIA provided him with false information about how many times and when he was briefed on enhanced interrogations.

Pelosi just got back from Iraq. Difficult to address it from there.

Dems should just call this for what it is.

  8. Ed had no trouble calling it what it is yesterday on his show!

  9. Off to jersey, later peeps.

I love Ed Schultz. His show is my new favorite show.

Here’s my question for those protesting Obama’s commencement address at Notre Dame, based on the sanctity of life issue: where were you when George W. Bush gave the commencement address at Notre Dame. As Governor of Texas, Bush presided over a large number of executions, all of which he could have halted.

Admit it, this has nothing to do with the sanctity of life.

  12. nannymm

Sure it does, dnd. Those who are protesting aren’t really pro-life; they’re just anti-abortion. The only life they care about is fetal life. They don’t give a damn about other life. Executions are A-OK with them; so are the casualties of unnecessary wars. Kids dying due to lack of medical care? Hey! No problem! Elderly and disabled folks going without adequate food, shelter and medication? Oh, well! What a bunch of hypocrites!

Comment of the day goes to dnd: “the MSM is once again being a stenographer for the right.”

It’s important to know when the Speaker and other pols in the Congress knew about torture in the chronology of Bush/Cheney torture rampage. John Yoo’s memos restricting Congressional speech shouldn’t hold in a court of law as there are three separate branches of government. Only the consciences of Congressional leaders prevented them from speaking out. “Congress shall pass no law abridging free speech.”

  14. Afternoon peeps

Gov. John Lynch will sign a bill legalizing same-sex marriage, he announced yesterday – but only if the Legislature passes extra protections for religious groups and their employees, allowing them to steer clear of weddings that contradict their beliefs. If not, Lynch said, he would veto the bill.

Well that now means it’s legal in all of New England, and today the NY Assembly passed a gay marriage bill.

“The Defense Department on Friday ordered Lockheed Martin Corp. to stop work on a more than $13 billion contract to develop new White House helicopters used to carry the president, making good on Defense Secretary Robert Gates’s previously stated intention to terminate the program because of costs hikes and delays.”

“TV Ad: Help Us Defeat Harry Reid”

LOL! Cute citing Reagan by the time he had early onset Alzheimer’s. Plus Reagan was a huge tax-and-spender.

The unfortunate thing for those on the extreme right and left is that Reid, a Mormon Senator from Nevada, is liked and respected by the majority, both left and right, of the Senate.

  19. I hope Harry didn’t wet himself when he saw that one!

  20. dnd

Reid was a former boxer. When he saw that one he probably took to the speed bag. Or the heavy bag with Rove’s picture on it 😉
