I hope she gets the $5,000 fine. She is dangerous.

  2. I’d rather she invested the 5 grand in some high voltage psychotherapy!

  3. nannymm

Forget it, Brian. She’s probably beyond help and too stupid to benefit from it.

Oh, come on guys. Who doesn’t love Michelle Bachmann? She looks so good in a tin-foil hat 😉

    Understanding Iran—very nice article

Let Bachman do her thing. The more wingers that are not counted, the more Congressional power Democrats have. We should be promoting a right wing census drop out. Also, if they drop out of their own accord they do it themselves.

  6. What the fuck is taking the Minnesota supreme court so long on the senate election case?

Just stopping in to say,”Hi’ before I head back out to my garden. Gotta get more work done before the rain hits. Have fun!
Steve, good point about Bachman and the wingnuts.

Pitchman (Oxi-clean and others) Billy Mays was found dead in his bed this morning by his wife. No foul play suspected. He was 50.

TAMPA, FLA. — Billy Mays, the burly, bearded television pitchman known for his boisterous hawking of products such as Orange Glo and OxiClean, has died. He was 50.

    Why unions mattered:

“It took an act of vandalism, followed by a six-year crusade, to have the Ludlow Massacre site designated a National Historic Landmark.

Gov. Bill Ritter, local dignitaries, miners, union representatives and others will gather today at Ludlow to dedicate the site.

Now a ghost town 13 miles north of Trinidad, Ludlow was the site of 14 months of strikes in 1913-14 by some 1,200 coal miners who were fed up with low wages, unsafe conditions and company towns that kept the miners deeply in debt. More than 100 people died in the strikes. ”

Coup in Honduras. Latin America has become pretty democratic in the last 20 years. I hate to hear this has happened.

  15. Steve, Manuel Zelaya doesn’t exactly strike me a s gem of a president. Lets hope the military turns control of the govt over to civilian authority real soon!

  16. dnd

Isn’t Bill Clinton a special envoy to Honduras?

  17. dnd

Muchacho de la trucha, no Coke, Pepsi!

  18. Steve

Brian, I believe you are right…The coup appears to be the result of the sitting President ignoring the constitution and trying to run for a prohibited second term. State Dept should continue to “express concern” but not get into this yet.

OAS and Latin American reaction at Hufpo (excellent)

The action taken against Honduran President Mel Zelaya violates the precepts of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, and thus should be condemned by all. We call on all parties in Honduras to respect the constitutional order and the rule of law, to reaffirm their democratic vocation, and to commit themselves to resolve political disputes peacefully and through dialogue. Honduras must embrace the very principles of democracy we reaffirmed at the OAS meeting it hosted less than one month ago
