Does Liz Cheney suffer from Stockholm Syndrome? ~ BrianInNYC

Not being a medical professional my assessment of Stockholm Syndrome might not be accurate but more and more I’m convinced there is something seriously psychologically wrong with Liz Cheney.  Perhaps it’s something more akin to the abused child who goes on to become an abuser herself.   Whatever dark force is at work here one can’t help but question why anyone  coming from a rational place would press with such vigor to become America’s most prominent defender of torture.

    Nannymm,
As much as I like the concept of Medicare for all, there are a few problems.

First is how it’s funded. Medicare is predicated on paying in during your working life and then reaping the benefits after retirement.

Second Medicare is a mess. It has little provision for cost containment, particularly part (D).

Third, the anti-socialists would never buy into it.

If you could solve 1 and 2, number three may take care of itself.

  8. d people would buy into medicare, it wouldn’t be “free”, also as things stand not everyone would be eligible. There are a lot of cost savings that could be created by not having to set up an entire new govt. agency to manage the public option. Also keep in mind that instead of the govt. giving money to private insurance companies to subsidize premiums for people who can’t afford insurance doesn’t it make a lot more sense for the govt to keep that money and steer it into medicare where the costs are much lower than in the private sector? Lets not forget that what many of the blue dogs object is not the public option itself but how it would pay the providers. Medicare could have a two tiered payment structure, one for retirees, one for the rest of poor schmucks.

  9. Interracial Couple Denied Marriage License By Louisiana Justice Of The Peace

“I’m not a racist. I just don’t believe in mixing the races that way,” Bardwell told the Associated Press on Thursday. “I have piles and piles of black friends. They come to my home, I marry them, they use my bathroom. I treat them just like everyone else.”
