    “Stop The Stupid”

    “Oh, no he didn’t.

Those elements are in the House and Senate versions of the legislation; their competing proposals will have to be reconciled in conference committee next year. The House bill includes a government-run insurance plan favored by progressive Democrats; the Senate version does not. “I didn’t campaign on the public option,” Obama said in the interview. – Washington Post

    Because yes he did.

    Campaign documents prove it:

    (2) NEW AFFORDABLE, ACCESSIBLE HEALTH INSURANCE OPTIONS. The Obama-Biden plan will create a National Health Insurance Exchange to help individuals purchase new affordable health care options if they are uninsured or want new health insurance. Through the Exchange, any American will have the opportunity to enroll in the new public plan or an approved private plan, and income-based sliding scale tax credits will be provided for people and families who need it. Insurers would have to issue every applicant a policy and charge fair and stable premiums that will not depend upon health status. The Exchange will require that all the plans offered are at least as generous as the new public plan and meet the same standards for quality and efficiency. Insurers would be required to justify an above-average premium increase to the Exchange. The Exchange would evaluate plans and make the differences among the plans, including cost of services, transparent.”

    Where’s the “Change”I voted for?

tony~ Great post, its nice to see people calling it as it is instead of shaking their teams pom poms while ignoring the truth. Now maybe someone can explain why Obama feels the need to sign an executive order giving Interpol diplomatic immunity.

Its time evolve beyond this partisan foolishness.

Morning – we’re sitting in the SLC airport waiting to go home to Phx. I finally experienced COLD weather. Looking forward to getting back home.

Loved the Bad Girls clips. Hope the bad boys come soon. Happy Holidays to all BCer’s.

  6. Hey Bev, hope you get home soon, and yes you can count on the bad boys soon to follow!

  7. nannymm

    Safe travels, Bev.

  8. tonyb39…

I’m sorry tony but I disagree with you on your health care comment.

I believe that there is a Exchange provision in both the House and Senate versions which is exactly what Obama talked about in his campaign.

You wrote it yourself above he said Exchange, not public option.

Looks the same to me though.

    God Bless.

  9. Can’t sit too long at the computer. My back went out a couple of days ago and hurts like h*ll.

Have a great day everyone and …

    God Bless.

  12. Senate bill poised for Christmas Eve passage with 60-39 cloture vote

The Senate on Wednesday cleared the last procedural hurdle on landmark healthcare reform legislation and is positioned to pass the bill on Christmas Eve.

Snowing and bitter cold here, too, dnd. We’ve been in the single digits or below zero for a couple days now and will be for a couple more.

  15. This three day whine that Ed has been on is getting tired and very counter productive.

  16. dooty

Why Nanny would you live in a freezer? I don’t get it. 🙂

  17. tonyb39

    Brian,
I watched Ed and I like what he is saying.Whine, surely you jest??? Maybe you want to rubber stamp everything the President does just like Republicans did with BUSH?I hope not because we would be in a world of trouble.

  18. No, but he’s been making the same point for three days now. And having in right wing pundits to agree with liberals is a bit stomach turning to me.

“And having in right wing pundits to agree with liberals is a bit stomach turning to me.”

    Brian,
Well I guess I have to agree there!! I hate having to disagree with this healthcare bill, mostly because of those scum sucking wing nuts..I do know though they just want the President to fail, liberals just want a very good bill with competition and choice(Public Option).

What’s with Rachel Maddow going on and on about the Birch John Society. Aren’t most wooden toilet seats made from birch? Or is it ash?

  20. Tony it’s one thing to push for a stronger bill to come out of conference, it’s another thing to be pointing fingers. Demoralizing the base isn’t going to get us any closer to what we want.

I think we all ought to send Bill O’Liely a seasons greeting this year. No Merry Christmas. just Seasons Greetings.
