Super Bowl XLIV

Indianapolis-Colts-Vs.-New-Orleans-Saints

Some are hyped by the hype.  Some are there for the parties.  Some just want to see the clever commercials.  And some are actually interested in the game.

It’s the Colts vs. the Saints today.  Which team are you rooting for?

p.s. On this 44th Super Bowl, with our 44th  president, former Denver Broncos’ running back Floyd Little, #44, was finally, finally, elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

  1. New Orleans of course, seriously how could anyone cheer on any other team!

  2. Hey Brian,
I’d gladly walk your dogs…but it’s such a long walk to get there.

(I sent an email to a friend who might know someone who can help you (dog-wise)….will see what she says)

I like the Saint’s outfits better 😉 They look more powerful, and of course NOLA rocks….so go Saints!!!

  3. dooty

Rooting for the NO Saints of course but don’t think they will win. Manning and crew are pretty good also.

  4. Morning peeps, UB I was being sarcastic, I can have someone walk the dogs if need be.

I’m rooting for the Saints, but I think the Colts will win. Peyton Manning deserves a ring.

Sister Jean, the Super Bowl Queen, predicts Colts 31, Saints 22. She’s got an 18-6 record.

Candy Crowley takes over for John King on CNN’s State of the Union. First get is SoS Hillary Clinton. Crowley is great.

Right wing tool Jake Tapper hosts This Week; takes on Tim Geithner. Memo to Tapper: Geithner’s brilliant, you’re stupid.

Dnd, I agree with your assessments of both Crowley and Tapper. I may actually like this new version of “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley as host. Her no nonsense style is refreshing. As for Tapper, you hit that nail right on the head.

Brian, how are you feeling this morning?

“…some are actually interested in the game.”

    Guilty.

I always favor the underdog and can’t think of a City or a Franchise more deserving of the Championship.

Did you see what they did to Favre-n-company? They are good too!

  7. It’s better nanny, not great, still pretty painful, but a little better.

  8. hey mad, long time no see. hey anyone catch any of Palin’s address last night?

  9. MadMustard

Hello dnd, Brian and gang. Things are good for me and I hope that you and all of the other BC’rs are doing well too.

Palin was all maverick’y as you might have guessed. What a card, that girl!

Enjoy the remainder of your Super Sunday.

Gee, I hate to ruin the majority opinion, but I’m for the Colts. I fully agree with the idea that New Orleans deserves a win and will be just fine with a win by the Saints. Just found out that dad, Archie, was NO’s first quarterback.

My favoritism is based solely on my like or dislike of quarterbacks. Peyton in #1 in my book. Never did like Kurt Warner.

  11. dnd…

And next week the War Criminal THE DICK Cheney will be on.

Why do they continue to put this White Piece Of Trash on the air.

We The People should complain and tell ABC we do not want acknowledged War Criminals being air time and the Peoples Air Waves.

ABC is a disgrace to the Press and Our Constitution.

    God Bless.

Mad Mustard. Now, there’s a blast from the past. How are you? Still doing videos? It was nice to check in this morning and see your post.

    Go Saints!

  13. MadMustard

Hello eProf, it’s always a pleasure to see your posts. I read you guys nearly every day… I just don’t have much to add. You guys have it all covered.

My job keeps me too busy to make many videos these days. The last few have been decidedly non-political. I might need to start again with all the fodder afforded by the teabaggers and Palinauts.

Bev… Old Archie Manning played many heroic seasons for the victory-challenged Saints expansion team, back in the day. I never heard him complain about his fate of being the #1 draft pick that exiled him there.

Anon, keep up the good fight.

Saints Beat Colts in Super Bowl, 31-17

The New Orleans Saints, the N.F.L. franchise long associated
with losing and disappointing its fans, defeated the
Indianapolis Colts, 31-17, to win the franchise’s first Super
Bowl and give New Orleans fans cause for much celebration.

  16. eprof2

I’m happy the Saints won in the face of being the underdog and for what they are doing for the city of NO. And, it wasn’t a bad football game at all even if you didn’t have a dog in the fight. Whoops, that’s not very politically correct given Michael Vick’s problems a couple of years ago, is it? Oh, well, that’s what popped into my head as I put down the first words of the sentence. See you tomorrow.

  17. dooty

congrats to the New Orleans Saints and the city of New Orleans. Mardi Gras starts in 7 days but I think it started tonight.

A Cajun who died went to hell.
The devil assigned him the usual punishment…put him in the mass pit where the heat was melting others. The devil came back sometime later surprised to find the Cajun just sitting around, not even misting, much less sweating. “How come you’re not so much as sweating here where everyone else is screaming for relief from the heat?”

The Cajun laughed and said, “Man, I was raised in the bayous of Sout Looziana. Dis ain’t nothin’ but May in Morgan City to me!”

The devil decided to really put the Cajun through it. He put him in a sealed off cave in the pit with open blazes and four extra furnaces blasting. When he came back, days later, the Cajun was sitting pretty, had barely begun to bead up with sweat. The devil was outraged.
“How is this possible!? You should be melted to a shrieking puddle in these conditions!.”

The Cajun laughed even harder than before. “Hey, man! I done tole you. I was raised in Sout Looziana. You tink dis is heat?! Dis ain’t nothin’ but August in Cow Island !”

So the devil thought, ‘Alright, a little reverse ought to do the trick.’ He put the Cajun into a corner or hell where no heat ever reached. It was freezing and to add to the Cajun’s misery, he added massive icebergs and blasting f rozen air. When he returned, the Cajun was shivering, ice hung from every part of him but he was grinning like it was Christmas.

Exasperated, the devil asked “HOW!? How is it possible?! You’re impervious to heat and here you sit in conditions you can’t be used to…freezing cold and yet you’re happier than if you were in heaven. WHY?!”

The Cajun kept grinning and asked, “Don’t dis mean de Saints won da Super Bowl?”

  18. TempeBev

I’m glad the Saints won! They played better and deserved the win.

Doesn’t the repugs cry for Tort Reform mean that then Doctors can’t be sued for malpractice like cutting off the wrong leg? Today Joe Schmo and Mika were talking about how Obama could get his 60 votes and Schmo was talking about how he had to give the rethugs something. I would think if the r’s want to play bipartisanship THEY will need to be the ones to come to the table not the other way around. All the dems have done is move more to the center and the rethugs move farther to the right.

I know this has been around on this site for a few days but I just found it and read it. I will point you to the article and web site of Margaret and Helen. It is true genius.
