Who’s crazier?

Davidson or Gingrich?

“What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?” Gingrich asks. “That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.”

  1. Morning peeps,
Gingrich isn’t crazy and we shouldn’t write off what he’s doing as being the rantings of a crazy man.

  2. Dooty

This AM on Morning Suck, someone mentioned after showing that video, that the GOP selected someone else to run for treasurer.

    Who’s crazier?

Too many of our fellow citizens, for falling for the same damn foolishness time after time.

Anyone in politics has to be a little crazy. There are some who are crazier than others and some are definitely more extreme. I think dog said it best: “Too many of our fellow citizens, for falling for the same damn foolishness time after time.”

I am thinking that perhaps the GOP has peaked early, and that there is a lot of silent support for the grownup party (as in, your responsible mommy party vs. your daddy party out boozing and spitting and bragging and losing where he parked the car).

Predictions, please, on outcome of tomorrow’s Delaware GOP primary?

Does Mike Castle pull it off, or do we see a Tea Party win?

Oh Davidson is crazier… by a mile! He must be a ‘Master of Communications’ because he totally communicated to me that he’s utterly unhinged.

Like Brian and dnd says, Gingrich is the sly-evil one… he can offer thoughts that can infiltrate the intellect.

    There is the danger.

  8. Morning peeps,
Dog I’m hoping Castle loses the primary, that’s the only shot we have at holding the seat in the Dem column.

Dog, ditto what Brian said. This is the reactionary wingnuts taking over the Republican party, c.f. Bennett in Utah. If the Republicans lose big because of the wingnuts that are hijacking their party and the sheeple who go along with them for political reasons, perhaps the Republican party will return to the bunch that’s willing to look for common good and compromise.

  9. Well off to the polls, still haven’t decided if I’m going to vote for Rangel or Powell, sigh.

  10. Well for the first time in over 20 years I didn’t vote for Rangel, felt wierd, first time voting electronically too, didn’t like it, bring back the big gray monsters!

  11. dog's eye view

    proud of you, Brian

  12. Looks the whack job from Delaware is going to pull it off, yee haw!

  13. Yep, the whacko pulled it off!

  14. dog's eye view

    OMG re Delaware.

Had seen some early Balloon Juice commenting that Politico called it for Castle.

Not online for hours; checked NYT and

One hopes O’Donnell’s “win” will make this a Democratic seat.

But suppose she wins the general?

I don’t recognize the idiocy what’s going on in this country any longer. Corporations can spend whatever they want, no disclosure, and our media is afraid to offend anyone by actually reporting. Maybe they are no longer capable of that duty.

FYI: an elderly neighbor received a call today. Her Medicare-accepting healthcare “coordinator” will no longer provide in home services (i.e. light housekeeping and assistance) or cab rides to doctor’s appointments, effective January 1. Both services previously had an affordable client co-pay.

I am wondering if SCAN (aka “Scam”) is pulling this to get seniors alarmed about “Obamacare.”

  15. Palidino has won the NY primary for gov, the inmates have truly taken over the asylum.

I feel really badly for Mike Castle. Honestly.

He didn’t deserve this end to his political career, and hope he becomes a voice against the madness that’s captured his party and is endangering us.

Link to birther hassling Castle at a town meeting.

And her supporters reciting the pledge, which is chilling in this context.

Watch now, as cable news intones that “incumbents are in trouble.”

When it’s Republican incumbents, not all incumbents. and that’s significant.

The videotape above: the teahadists chant the pledge of allegiance to drown Castle out.

How will it feel to have them chanting the Constitution at us, while they reduce its protections and use it to entrench their own frightened, ignorant bid for power?

  18. Dooty

Man, have yall all read the Wiki about this O’Donnell person? Jeeze.

    • dnd

Rove said he was disappointed with the O’Donnell win. How ironic. After years of trying to attract the lunatic fringe and flush out the moderates. Be careful what you wish for…

  19. d I’m curious do you still stand behind your prediction that the Democratic Party is going to have an civil war and split into two parties?

(yes I’m having an I told you so moment)

  20. dog's eye view

I fear the blog title “Who’s Crazier?” can be used daily until about Christmas now.

  21. TempeBev

The crazier title goes to the Tea Party. They must be drinking Long Island Iced Tea.

Another way to view it, the incumbents are being removed – the GOP has lost control of their party. It’s up to the Dems but they’ve been such wimps, we just might have a new political force in Congress in 2010.

Arizona politics another dose of slimy.

  22. dog's eye view

So true, Bev. Agree re Democratic spinelessness. Would far prefer seeing someone pushing back to educate and engage with voters, and going down fighting.

Where’s the Concord Coalition or some group of grownups?

And why, with all this craziness, are we not hearing about public funding of elections?

Because otherwise it’s all Koch Brothers and Murdoch and corporate kleptocracies.

    Follow the money.

  23. Dooty

what is the problem with Elizabeth Warren heading up the Consumer Protection Agency. Is the blowback coming from right or left? I am confused.

  24. The Republican Fascist Nazi’s are winning and we are all in big trouble.

Our country is gone and the Democrats helped destroy it by allowing the Nazi Republicans to strip any real reform out of all the legislation they passed.

And they wonder why the base is sour on them. It looks like a civil war is not far down the road now and the train is running full steam ahead with no one manning the brakes.

How long before it derails and runs off the tracks?

Not very long I would say.

If the Dem’s manage to hold both the house and senate then I firmly believe that we will see political assassinations of Democrats in the near future.

The Republican Nazi’s will stop at nothing to gain power and killing Democrats will just be another step to achieving their goal.

May God have mercy on us all.

    Good morning all.

Probably a silly concern, but I note that Talking Points Memo has taken aim at O’Donnell and is running all sorts of clips and stories about her lunacy.

I worry that if all of this news comes out so early, voters will become desensitized to it and it will be old news once the general draws nearer. It’s happened before.

Of course, this woman may be a veritable Vesuvius of stupid (and that’s looking likely).

  26. Dog I don’t think you have to worry, this story isn’t going away and I’m willing to bet there is more to be revealed!

I was out running errands yesterday, listening to Rush. His rant was about a story in The Guardian where apparently in an upcoming book, Carla Bruni said that Michelle Obama told her that she hated being first lady. Rush’s riff on why the Obama’s hated their current jobs was that this was the first time in their lives they had to actually work. I was waiting for him to call them “welfare queens.” He did not. I guess he prefers to nuance his racism for his sophisticated audience.

The funny part was after the break he ranted against Rove and Mike Murphy for dissing Christine O’Donnell. I was wondering if Rush or his audience noted the irony about following up the lazy Obama’s with Ms O’Donnell, who’s employment history has been, at best, spotty. And that’s being generous.

      • dnd

I’m hoping O’Donnell comes out on Fox and says: “Hell no I didn’t pay my taxes! We teabaggers don’t believe in taxes! Come after me IRS!”

  27. Dooty

D, I don’t see how you could hold down your lunch listening to Rush.

  28. TempeBev

Anyone going to the Stewart-Colbert march in Washington? Sounds like fun.
