For those with questions about the SOTU address, you can submit questions live at 11:30 today EST:
Here we go again with all the previous crap and forget the “kumba ya” stuff from 2 weeks ago.
The Senator that sent letters to the leadership for the Congress membership to sit together was Mark Udall. He’s the son of former AZ Senator Mo Udall. His cousin is Senator Tom Udall of New Mexico, son of the best Secretary of the Interior Stewart Udall.
While I don’t think we’re yet on a path on getting everybody working together, if anybody can, it’s the Udall clan.
Other good news:
D – I agree the Udall family is great. Now the offspring who are continuing to do doing wonerful things for our country.
Bev: I feel for you, because watching the local news has got to be rather strange. Station does not want to tick off its Tea Party supporter viewers (and, given the demographic, they’re most likely to be watching “Live at Five”).
Caught a little local news a few months ago during a drive through Arizona.
NYT: Talk of Bipartisan Progress Fading in Arizona
What do they know, though? They’re in New Yawk.
Arizona sucks right now. At least on my street, I have nice neighbors and not a houseful of college kids. Rentals are high in the neighborhood for ASU students.
Yesterday, AZ officially began the “anchor baby” movement in the state legis. regarding the 14th amendment. Just sit around waiting to see what the “not-in-name” governor will come up with next. Russell Pearce, the gov’s string puller, is off and running this session.
I wrote a letter to the editor of our Phx newspaper pointing out the difference between the first page – “middle class slipping” and second section front page “$160 mil spent on cars at the Barrett-Jackson car auction in Scottsdale. It got published. In the comments, some a-hole suggested it was the middle class buying cars because there are lots of levels of the middle class.
I still remember the infamous Rodney King asking “can’t we all just get along?” Doesn’t seem like it.
God must love a-holes. Why else would he have created so many of them?
My theory is that, and from my readings of religious texts, is that they serve as an example of what not to be.
“they serve as an example of what not to be.”
Until they get to critical mass, and then they’re a demographic and a “movement” and CNN’s darlings. Eyeballs and cash over accuracy and sanity, any day.
Interesting to watch the tumult in Egypt. I’d be out there protesting Mubarak too.
Enough time in office, dude. And we aren’t interested in Mubarak Jr., either, thankyouverymuch.
A death in the family
I am either too old or too young (immature) for the political nonsense of our current times. It just makes me want to scream…..that’s just not a good reaction. Beck, Bachmann, and the 3 other idiots: I am “not a witch”, the “second amendment remedy ” and I “can see Russia”…. many people actually listen to them and like what they hear….this is a nightmare.
Failed education….Republicans want to keep everyone stupid – easier to control, scare and sway .
On point: I liked the State of the Union. Thumbs up.
Republican Jack Kingston On Evolution: I’m Not From A Monkey! (VIDEO)
Memo to Jack Kingston: No, you didn’t evolve from a monkey. Humans evolved from the branch that includes chimps. Though in your case we might be able to make the exception that you are a monkey…
Ya know, it may be that evolution was all part of God’s plan.
New thread – Crisis in Egypt
UB – Your comments were great. I certainly identify with them. D – you’e right, there certainly are a lot of them.
