Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty kicked off his presidential campaign in Des Moines today (Monday) to a small crowd of (presumably) supporters. His speech was a snarky attack of President Obama. While he was sniping at the President, the President was speaking to a crowd of tens of thousands cheering Dubliners, chanting “O’Bama!”
Pawlenty’s speech also decried corn-ethanol subsidies in a state where the major crop is corn. Next he’s going to Florida and give a speech about cutting back on Social Security and Medicare, a state where many rely on Social Security and Medicare. Following that he will be going to NYC to tell Wall Street that under his administration they will not get any bail-outs like TARP.
Snarking on the President while the President is abroad says something about his character. Telling supporters he’s against what they’re for says something about his judgement.
