Chris Christie for President?

The political chattering class is all atwitter about Chris Christie.  Will he or won’t he?  He has said that under no uncertain terms he won’t run for president.  Yet he’s still flirting with those who want him to throw his hat in the ring.  He’s sort of the Sarah Palin of New Jersey.

With the right’s unhappiness about the current crop  of candidates Christie is the new shiny thing.  Remember Michele Bachmann?  Rick Perry?

Christie may run, but it’s a long shot that he’d win the nomination.  His record is way, way too far left for the Tea Party activists who seem to be running the show.  And he’s a Catholic.

If it’s Sunday, it’s my favorite curmudgeon, Ed Quillen. This Sunday ‘ol Ed opines on testing the GOP field:

I think the repubs are getting desperate with the present selection of candidates, so they are scrambling for the next one who might please the base. No way are they going to choose H. Cain even if he won FL’s straw poll. They can say a million times they are a party of racism, but I will never believe it. That’s why H. C. won’t be their candidate.

  3. I think even Christie would find you comparing him to Palin insulting, LOL

Mr. Christie came to dnd’s conclusion.

I like that he stood up to the Mosque protesters.

However, still a Republican, and that party is off the rails. Christie bashes teachers and union members too; not refreshing.

The Christies have youngish kids. They’ve probably decided they’d rather not put the family through a race this year, when he will be but one among a circus of clowns.
