Clinton in Myanmar

While the media continues to focus on the clown car that is the Republican presidential candidates, there is some important foreign diplomacy in the works.  Secretary Clinton is visiting Myanmar (Burma) to get the skinny on reforms since the election of  President Thein Sein last March.  Madame Secretary promised U.S. diplomatic relations and that she would urge World Bank and International Monetary Funds help if reforms continued.

A significant step in how the U.S. approaches foreign policy.

Romney on the lower unemployment numbers:

“[Obama is] going to try to put a silver lining in a very dark cloud,” Romney said on “Fox & Friends,” predicting the White House’s reaction to the newly released job numbers. “He’s going to have a hard time putting perfume on this pig.”

Perfume on this pig? Isn’t it lipstick on a pig? Mitt, welcome to the Bachmann, Cain and Perry clown car.
