GOP: Now What?

With Romney’s win in Michigan and Arizona, some of the chattering class chatter has shifted from the belief that the Republicans will pick someone other than those who are currently running.  The current crop of darlings is Paul Ryan, Chris Christie, Mitch Daniels and Jeb Bush.

Each of these prospects has said and emphatic “no” to them getting into the race.  It may be that they know it’s a suicide mission, with no hope of building an organization and cash in time for November.  It could be that they’re biding their time for 2016.  It could be personal reasons, or doubt for their qualifications.

Regardless,  they all have a serious Achilles heel that would make them as vulnerable as the current crop in the general election.  And perhaps they all realize that.  But that doesn’t stop the chattering class from chattering.

  1. Three seconds of thought: Christie might be the toughest, because he connects with people. He communicates well. Sounds reasonable, and sure of himself.

I’ve never seen Jeb Bush in action. (Or repressed it, if so.)

Last: RIP Andrew Breitbart. Loved a comment from Balloon Juice (what someone said at Jesse Helms’ passing):

“He’s in a better world now. And so are we.”

Just read about the Senate voting against Blunt’s amendment regarding birth control. Everyone who voted against it is on record for being against women’s rights. They need to be replaced. Don’t they understand that women were given the vote many years ago? What dummies.

  3. So Satan finally gets too give Andrew Breitbart the spot he had reserved for him next to the rest of the racist, bigoted, homophobic fascist nazi republicans.

Good riddance is all I have to say about Breitbart.

    Have a nice day.

IMO, Rush can have the other seat that Satan reserved for him. A.P, you have a nice day too.

    From BIGALINLASVEGAS:
Speaking as a man with two thirty something daughters and two under sixteen granddaughters, I think Limbaugh is a total pig. But that is not why I’m writing this; I’m writing to leave a warning to all the men reading my words. Gentlemen DO NOT take this women hating thugs side on this, if you do ALL the women in your life may not say anything right now, but believe me when I say. They will never forget that you did……NEVVVER!

Brian, ditto what Doots said. And with all of the money you’ll save from not buying cigarettes, you can spend on more tats.

Main lining would be so much better for you, Brian. I’ve heard it does wonderful things to your mind and body. :>)

  11. Tee hee. Just walked up and cast my primary ballot for Ron Paul. Just for fun.

Have never voted for amusement value before.

  12. TempeBev

    Good for you, Dog!

  13. Bev: met a jogger sporting a “Ron Paul” sticker while on my walk. Told him I’d voted for his candidate, but was an Obama supporter for the fall.

He told me so was he. He’ll be supporting Obama to ensure “gridlock”.

Told him thanks. Whatever it takes; vote’s a vote. Hope he does!

  14. PS: Anon Paranoid: always great to see you here. Visit more often, y’hear?
