Missy Franklin is Gold

Missy Franklin won the Gold Medal in the 100m backstroke at the 2010 Olympics in London.  She is a student at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, CO, and she has dedicated her races to the Aurora theater shooting victims.  In a community that has experienced such tragic sadness, perhaps her performance will help put a smile on some faces.

Have seen very little of the Olympics. Just back from a week on the Oregon coast. There really are places that have cool weather.

Great athletes all over. Phelps got 20, Gabby Douglas is a great gymnast, and my favorite, England’s Bradley Wiggins in the bike time trials.

    A little political chuckle:

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report )-Concerned that her
endorsement of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney for President would
lead to “cheap, easy jokes and innuendo,” porn star Jenna Jameson held a
press conference today to explain her headline-making decision.
When asked what initially appealed to her about Mr. Romney, Ms. Jameson
said, “He’s the only person who’s assumed more positions than I have.”
The actress said that she researched Mr. Romney’s career thoroughly, and was
particularly impressed by his tenure at Bain Capital: “There’s nothing more
American, I think, than screwing people you don’t know, for money.”
While Mr. Romney’s recent foreign trip drew jeers from his critics, Ms.
Jameson hailed his performance: “I respect someone who opens their mouth
    without thinking.”
The actress, who appeared as the character Holly So Tightly in the film Dirt
Merchant, seemed unconcerned by the controversy swirling about Mr. Romney’s
bank accounts in Switzerland and the Caymans: “Well, I’ve put my assets in
    plenty of foreign places.”
Ms. Jameson concluded her presser by reiterating her fulsome support of the
G.O.P. candidate: “Mitt Romney will do to all of America what I have already
    done to half of it.”

As I’m eating my hot dog with mustard and eating mustard greens, I’ll be playing with my Silly Putty that was accidentally invented the same year I was probably accidentally invented too!

D- I’m in a pickle for the coming NFL season. Peyton is with you, the new backup QB is from ASU. I’m not a Cardinals fan, but I guess I’ll see how they do. I hate to admit it but I may become a Bronco’s fan. Of course, there’s always Eli. Saw the schedule, and Denver and AZ are playing Aug 30 here. We’ll have to chat afterwards.

  7. Watching an interview with Mitt on CNN right now, he looks terrible, tired and aging rapidly. If he looks this bad after being on the campaign trail imagine what being in the White House would do to him.

  8. I guess lying constantly and taking money from terrible people can do that to you.

Plus, he shouldn’t have dissed his wife’s horse.
