The Big Dog delivered. Terrific speech. Felt like 15 minutes.

    Oh, I hope so, Brian.

I am hoping for coattails broad enough to keep the Senate and bring Nancy Pelosi back as House Speaker.

We need to get some work done, and can’t do it with Eric Cantor and Mitch McConnell with oversize influence.

One of the things that no one can doubt (except maybe D) from watching this convention, my party has returned to it’s liberal roots, health care for all, reproductive rights, marriage equality, equal pay, a place at the table for all, this is the most liberal Dem convention we’ve seen in a very long time.

BTW in the giddy excitement over Bill’s speech lets not forget the outstanding job done by both Elizabeth Warren and Sandra Fluke!

  2. I have seen more posters for Powell than ever.

Hope Eric Cantor gets released to the private sector, pronto. He’s been sucking at the government teat for way too long.

    Great to hear about Mudcat.

  3. And here’s Mudcat’s blog. Here’s a story about him from The Roanoke Times.

dnd: in your debt for telling me about this.

And I have seen the FOR SALE Eric Cantor signs. A row of them, near my sister’s house in Confederate Country. Always makes me smile.

Brilliant, because you just buy them DIY at a hardware store. No waiting on a campaign or volunteer.

Think we could do some DIYs for Romney too.

  4. DND! That is some triple-grade snark.

Emailing it now to every Virginian who will talk to me.

  5. Well we certainly saw a fighting Barack last night. Mitt’s in for a very bumpy ride!

There were so many memorable lines from last night, hard to pick a favorite. That in itself says something. I really liked John Kerry’s “Ask Osama bin Laden if he’s better off than he was four years ago.”

The differences between the conventions was so stark even many of the right-wing pundits noted it.

I’m looking forward to the two debates. The should be very interesting to watch.

  7. For those of you who are still confused about what I do for living, here’s an example of how I spend part of my days, making things like this:

Excellent demo, Brian. I was good to hear your voice. You don’t sound like a NYer. I was at a doc’s office today and they were using similar “fill-in-the’blanks” on their computer. So different when I was front office manager in an internal med office. The world has gone electronic. Especially when the gov says so.

  9. Funny thing Bev is people at work keep asking me if I’m from Boston.

  10. I’ll try harder next time d, after all my goal is to sound like a native of Louisville!

  11. Good morning. Gorgeous fall morning in Virginia.

Storms through late afternoon; our power was off for 2 hours. Temp dropped 25 degrees outside very quickly.

Going door to door today for Obama. So psyched after that marvelous convention.

Hope all is well in your late summer neck of the woods.

dnd: when might you get your first snow? Bev: how’s temp in Arizona (climate and politically)?

Dog – temp in Tempe is getting better – we’re in the end of the monsoon season. Very humid for us, but temps are in low 100″s or high 9o’s. I’m trying not to read the papers or listen to the pundits right now. They’re all out for ratings and blah blah blah. The jobs report didn’t help O, but I still think he’ll pull it off. Thanks much for asking.

    D. Watching the Broncos game with Peyton. Just doesn’t look right. Kolb came in and saved the day for AZ. This season will be interesting.
