10 Years Later

On 19 March 2003 the U.S. and members of the coalition invaded Iraq.  Many are still asking why.    Retribution on Al-Qaeda for the 9/11 attack?  WMD?  Preemptive strike?  Removing a tyrannical despot?  Or was there a hidden agenda (or agendas)?   Was this a success?  A mistake?

I think the Iraq war will go down in history as a mistake by GWB’s administration. Obama will get credit for withdrawing the troupes and ending the way.

Of course the way history books are being written now, facts become irrelevant and fantasy becomes the new reality. The above may never appear.

  2. It pains me to see Dick Cheney walking around, a free man.

And all this “we’ll never know what would have happened if we didn’t take out Saddam” commentary by those who supported this debacle is on my last nerve.

Why doesn’t anyone ever bring up the Iraq War as an example of “robbing from our kids and grandchildren”?

OT, fingers crossed for PBO’s safety during his visit to Israel.

  3. PS: not to mention, robbing those whose lives were lost or altered by their service to our country.

And: hello there anon-p. Be well, great to hear about the new cat, and hope your computer problems are getting resolved. Lovely to hear you check in on this tiny planet.

  4. Mistake. If you need to lie your country into a war…
