The release of the Senate report on the CIA’s “enhanced interrogation methods” has launched a partisan argument. Not surprised.  What was surprising was John McCain’s best moment ever:

NYT’s Peter Baker interviewed Darth Cheney:
“What I keep hearing out there is they portray this as a rogue operation. I think that’s all a bunch of hooey. The program was authorized.”

That means someone is guilty of a war crime. Lookin’ at you Dick…

    George has been quiet.

I wrote a check yesterday and noticed the date too. A sequence of dates won’t reappear until the next century according to the news. Guess I’ll probably miss that one.

Question: Why does the media give Cheney press coverage to his big mouth? Is he covering for Bush or his own ass.

  4. Looks like Warren is picking up some steam as the “anti-Clinton” candidate.

  5. Terrific Andrew Sullivan column. Thanks for highlighting, dnd. I would not have seen.

I’m insured, insured, insured. Obamacare was affordable for me this go-round.

    Dick is such a dick.

Will the nation go for a Bush Dynasty? I would love Elizabeth Warren to run. A Hillary vs. Elizabeth primary debate would be fun to watch. However, I don’t think they would run against each other.

Glad you have insurance Dog. I hope you have a healthy 2015 and don’t have to use it.

  7. good news on obama care Dog, now don’t go getting sick because you can! 🙂

Back to the Torture theme: I guess this ends the USA bragging about “exceptionalism.”

Alan Gross coming home from Cuba on humanitarian issues, thanks in part to Pope Francis. Prison swap between U.S. and Cuba. President Obama opening up relations with Cuba. Wants congress repeal the embargo. Wow.

And 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The Republicans have started criticizing the president. My guess from the big grins on the photos of Alan Gross and his wife, they probably disagree.

  9. Took the words right out of my mouth! 😉

      R.I.P Joe.

Cocker lived in a tiny town, Crawford, in S.W. Colorado. He and his wife ran a foundation for kids education. That and the Mad Dog Cafe.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to my BC buds. These good wishes are a few days early because tomorrow we’re going out of town for Christmas. Leaving Tues AM for Las Vegas for one night. We’re meeting our daughter and her family there. All of us go on to Death Valley for Christmas for a few days. Then back home when our oldest son and his family come to visit us for a few days. We’ll be celebrating NYE with our youngest son and partner in Phoenix at their annual NYE party. Wow, the whole family this year in separate visits. We’re looking forward to having a great time.

I hope all of you will have a great holiday season and I look forward to continuing our friendship in 2015. Happy New Year too!

  12. Merry Christmas Eve!
Did now know that Joe Cocker had a Colorado connection. Got to love the cafe’s name.
