The Thrill is Gone

Sra Dog is sick of all the press the Republican clown car is getting.  Who isn’t?    When they’re not sniping against each other and they’re not sniping against Sec. Clinton, they’re declaring that the thrill has gone with the Democrats for Sec. Clinton.  Their aim is that Sec. Clinton doesn’t get any R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

Yay for D, Yay for Dog, and yay for Aretha. What a great new post. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  2. Morning everyone,
Hey you can never go wrong with Aretha! Big day for me today, submitting my certification project, final exam is 6/10, it has not been an easy process. FYI, I emailed AP the other day, no reply yet, hopefully I’ll hear back from him soon and I will let you all know when I do.

  3. Thank you dnd! And look forward to watching the kid vid. Hear it’s gone viral and is good.

Brian: congrats and good luck! And thank you for keeping us posted on the much liked AP. He is in our thoughts.

Will come up with a better comment in a few, but delighted to see Ms. Franklin’s talented and humane face.

  4. Well I guess I’ve been punked 🙂

  5. Anyone else watching Hillary’s speech? Glad to see she started off praising the President.

Curious about the timing of Hillary’s first campaign speech. Middle of the day Saturday? I’m sure Podesta had a reason for it, but I can’t figure it out.

  6. Lesson learned, Hillary is running as a liberal.

  7. D, are you sure she’s only Lindsey’s campaign manager?

  8. Happy Sunday, y’all. If you get a chance, check out my FB page and see if it lets you in.

Liked HRC’s speech yesterday. Hit the right note on a lot of issues. Guessing Saturday to get it on the Sunday shows and topic of conversation this coming week (which looks kind of slow??) …

Have stuff to do around the house. Will check back w you later.

AP: thinking of you, and hope you are doing well.

Saw parts of the Hillary speech today. Not great, not horrible. Seemed to be well orchestrated. The parts about her mother established an emotional connection. The parts about being a tried-and-true liberal sounded a bit contrived, and lacked specifics. My guess is that she cemented her support with those who lover, opposition who hate her, and convinced few who are on the fence.

It’s difficult for her not to sound like a typical politician next to Bernie Sanders who sounds so completely authentic.

Gonna be interesting to here what “Jeb!” has to say tomorrow.

  9. dog, I got into FB just fine. My bud Sylvia will be here soon and we’re going to do a binge session on season 3 of Orange is the New Black.

  10. Authentic. That is exactly the word to describe Bernie Sanders. I have been thinking it for a while.

All the good ones are on our side.

“Jeb” stands for John Ellis Bush. So when you say “Jeb Bush” you’re really saying “John Ellis Bush Bush.” Maybe that explains the exclamation point…

Jeb say’s he’s an introvert. That’s gonna work real well with Putin.
I hope the put him next to Donald Trump during the debate.

  11. Jeb is an idiot, he really has no business running.

Only his wife, kids and mother was there. Testimony that 43 was a failed president. 41 wasn’t so hot either.
Curious that his two other brothers weren’t there.

  12. This is fun. Fairly precise political quiz. Friend put it up on FB, and it’s got more detailed questions than usual. (ie. Have heard of a few that informs surprised friends they are conservative Republicans. Really?)

Are we a nest of Hillary supporters? Is Bernie burning bright?

I got Sanders, Hillary, O’Malley, Jeb (grrr), and some of the Klown Kar in single digits. But appalling to see them there at all.

    • dnd

      Sra Dog,
I got Sanders, Hillary, O’Malley, Christie (?), and Walker (???). Relieved that I got 0% for Cruz and Firoina.

Actually I’m a Biden guy. Three reasons: He’s authentic. His knowledge of foreign affairs is unsurpassed. Not since LBJ have we had someone who completely understands the Senate.

      Oh, and everybody likes him.

  13. What does it say that your-two term president is not welcome at RNC political conventions, or at his brother’s campaign announcement? It’s not THAT hard to get out of Texas.

I wonder what Bob Dole and the rest of the surviving sane class of Republicans think.

What really saddens me: that people give up on Republicans, but they won’t do the additional mental work of identifying as Democrats. They go straight for “they’re all the same” or declare themselves (G)libertarians or non-voters. I guess demonizing Democrats has been pretty effective …

I took Dog’s advice from a while ago. Not watching politics for a while. Just finished “Grace & Frankie” series on Netflix. I loved the show. Hope they can do another set of 13.

Ok, the 112.3 temperatures and leaving town. Going to SLC to visit family. It’s so hot Mr. Bev is putting up shade screens for some of the plants that get the full sun.

I hope you all have a safe and healthy week. Talk to you when we get back next week.

  15. Donald Trump is about as disgusting as it gets.
