Today’s Republican primary in Alabama and Mississippi seems to focus on a stereotype cemented from the movie “Deliverance.”
I’ve done some work at NASA’s Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi. When I say southern, Stennis is just a few miles north of Waveland and Bay St. Louis, which was ground zero for hurricane Katrina. When you hear the phrase “it’s not rocket science” at Stennis it is rocket science.
Stennis was named for U.S. Senator John C. Stennis who represented Mississippi for over 40 years. Stennis was a Democrat.
