Who Are These People?

Welcome to The BackChannel Group, a group of friends who all came to know each other at the blog Craig Crawford. As the battle for the Democratic presidential nomination heated up many of us Obama supporters no longer felt welcome on the blog. Some of us decided to tough it out, others decided to move on. In an effort to keep in touch we decided to form an email group, but a few months later we realized that we had out grown the email list and decided to form this blog. We hope you’ll enjoy our efforts and feel free to comment and let us know what you think about our daily threads. No matter what side of the political spectrum you fall on we’d love to hear you. If you have any comments or suggestions for our blog please fill out our contact form and let us know what you are thinking.

My favorite color is clear. When I drive past road kill I have to cover my eyes.  I have a couple regrets, and some relationship issues that I don’t care to resolve.  I find strange things funny. I am a liberal who was raised in a conservative home. I shook Nixon’s hand. I am a political novice. My interests lie in human rights and the advancement of science and technology.

Favorite organizations: Toms Shoes http://www.tomsshoes.comOLPC (One Laptop Per Child) http://laptop.org

A man of mystery.  Bill Richardson supp0rter.  Loves lasagna, kimchee, anchovies, garlic, tamales and BBQ.  Has yet to grow a decent tomato.

This is why I chose my screen name.  Had never even been on the internets when this cartoon appeared, but knew it was a big thing.
Love road trips.  Being outdoors.  Reading.
And privacy.

(Cartoon by Peter Steiner, The New Yorker magazine,  July 5, 1993.)

I used to be called Aging Hipster but I am not really that Hip and am younger than most of the old "C-Lister Crowd," so that didn’t quite fit. I am in the mountains of Georgia and North Carolina, and am about the most Conservative person you will find here. That tells you just what kind of left wing looney bin this place is.

I like it that way.
