    McCain sold his soul to Satan when he put Palin on the ticket for VP.

    We all have seen by his choice that he has no Honor left and is soul less. He should quietly retire or resign while he still has a little Dignity left, but I doubt he will do that.

    Instead when he goes down he will be nothing but a ugly broken old man.

    As we all know crosshairs is code for shooting them though she doesn’t outright say that.

    Scary poll! Yep,Brian so true,i’m not saying i buy that PUMA exists,but there are definitely those folks who are not Republican’s that have Obama Derangement Syndrome..Anger,rage and in some cases racism are at the heart of this.I can see being critical and working to make sure politicians keep their promises,but this hatefulness is sick!

      Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, says he pays more for health care insurance than he does for coffee beans. Not surprising as he gives every employee who works over 20 hours/week health insurance. He’s even spoken with President Obama about it. He’s a big proponent of health care reform (well duh!).

      In related news, the Washington State AG is one of those states AGs that will file suite against the federal government over the health care reform bill. Note that Washington State is the home of Starbucks.

      It’s also interesting that Starbucks is a major sponsor of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” whose “Joe” is a major opponent of health care reform. Time to start a letter writing campaign to Starbucks we will boycott Starbucks while they sponsor a show that wants to repeal health care reform.

    The treaty would require each side to reduce deployed strategic nuclear warheads to roughly 1,600, down from 2,200 now, officials have said. It would also oblige each side to reduce its arsenal of strategic bombers and land- and sea-based missiles to 800, half the old limit of 1,600.

Note that Biden can overrule the parliamentarian, but probably didn’t do so as it would fan the “ram it down your throat” meme of the repubs.

We pay these people to do a job. It looks horrible that they are refusing to work past 2pm. Can you imagine if any of us did that in our jobs? Hell, we’d be fired! And we would have to wait for the next election to get the pink slip! I can only imagine how the unemployed must be reacting to this nonsense.

      On CNN’s American Morning this am they had a segment where a reporter was talking with a bunch of white white-collar guys riding the 5:50 Long Island Express home. Most were Republicans who didn’t vote for Obama. None had a problem with this health care reform. All said that if they did their jobs like the congress critters who refuse to work, they’d get fired.

If these tactics cost them votes and seats they will have no one to blame but themselves. The question is: how are the rethugs and indies taking this in the swing districts and states? I hope we see some polling on that soon.
    Funny thing is, I don’t thing the rethugs plan to stop their nonsense any time soon no matter what the polling indicates. They’re on an “opposition high;” opposing everything has become an addiction for them.

    Scott Brown is raising money because he thinks Rachel is going to run against him in 2012? What an asshole and typical of party members. McCain is a charter member of that club.

    Hubby had torn meniscus surgery yesterday – cruising on Percocet. He’s much nicer when he’s a little drugged! Biggest problem – he’s taken over my recliner. Gee, I sound like a whining 2 yr old. LOL

      Great optics in Iowa City. No coat, rolled up sleeves. Handling the heckler. Health insurance rates in Iowa are skyrocketing.

      Iowa is made up of a lot of small businessmen: farmers. They spend a lot on insurance. Crop insurance, property insurance, vehicle insurance, life insurance, and yes, health insurance. And because they are small businessmen in a hazardous industry, they pay a lot for health insurance.

      I only wish Obama would have stuck it to Jim DeMint by having his town hall in Waterloo Iowa 😉

What is worrying me today is this damned idea that Dems are equally responsible for the violent rhetoric. This moral equivalence argument is not good. The Dems need to get out front on this and put a stop to it.

      Brian, I think, per your clarification, might be correct. Witness the Republicans frighteningly running away from the bunch they endorsed and incited.
      I think there will always be extremist wingnuts, but the teabagger’s day in the sun is fading. When the economy turns around, particularly unemployment numbers, it’s over.

    Administration Plans Program to Cut Mortgage Debt of Troubled Borrowers

    The Obama administration will announce a major new housing
    initiative on Friday that will directly tackle the problem of
    the millions of Americans who owe more on their houses than
    they are worth. The government will buy loans from investors
    at the current value of the house in an effort to stabilize
    the market, people briefed on the plan said. The government
    will also increase incentive payments to lenders that cut the
    principal of borrowers in modification programs. And it will
    require lenders to cut the monthly payments of unemployed
    borrowers for a minimum of three months.

      Sure, love Murray’s cheese shop. Dean & DeLuca is a fun place to shop but way too expensive. When my brother was a student at NYU he took me to an Italian place for braciole. The young sisters who worked there screamed at each other, but it was great braciole. The best pizza I had while visiting my brother was from guys from Portugal.

      But my most memorable meal was at McSorley’s 😉

      It ain’t rockers Brian. I’m a big fan of guitarist that improvise. Number one on the list is jazz great Johnny Smith. Herb Ellis too (both alive). Chet Atkins. And yes, Jerry Garcia. There are a number of great rock guitarist, but none that can improvise like Garcia, not even Frank Zappa or Eric Clapton or Jimmy Page.

    Senate Plays Game Of Chicken With Unemployment Benefits

    After about 20 minutes, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) interrupted Coburn to ask: “How long are you going to talk?”

    Coburn said he planned to talk for another 45 minutes. Reid turned around and left the room. He eventually returned with a motion to table Coburn’s bill, which succeeded easily.
